The Resistance Chronicles - Series Summary
It is now the year 2815, just under 800 years in the future from the Earth of 2023. Back in 2023, people had almost woken up to the dire state of Earth’s environment and the species being driven into extinction. The path was clear. Unless a miracle happened, humanity’s greed and stupidity were leading the Earth towards its demise.
Advances in space ship propulsion created the SLS drive. This enabled the colony ships to be built and launched in 2365. This led to 22 new isolated star system colonies being founded between 2565 and 2623. Further advances on New Terra resulted in the FTL drive in 2693 that brought the other colony systems back into reach. In 2715, New Terra’s Imperium government reached out and started taking colonies under their control. This resulted in 50 years of bloody war. By 2765, the Imperium ruled on 14 of the colony worlds.
The rebellion had started in the colonies during the Imperium’s expansion. When colonies fell, the Imperium drove most of the rebels back to the 8 Rim Systems. Some had been born in the Rim, others were refugees who had fled from the tyranny of the Imperium. Other brave rebels had stayed in place on the Core Worlds, their mission to sow havoc in the Imperium. This had stalled the Imperium’s further expansion. The Imperium had too many problems at home. They had to subdue the trouble makers and stamp them out. The Rim Systems could wait. They were not going anywhere. No one could escape the colonies. There were no other worlds that were close enough to get to. No one was getting out of this.
The Rim banded together and formed the Rim Systems Co-Operative. Governments from the 8 systems coordinated the fight with the Imperium. The Resistance had been born.
Lauren and Jack were in the quiet rural farming community of Alva on Lothian world in the Rim. A beautiful morning spent walking among the cherry blossoms. Then the gunships arrived overhead.
This series chronicles a record of the events and adventures of Lauren and Jack that started that morning. Events that would bring them, the new friends they would make, as well as many others' lives, into direct conflict with the Imperium.
Life is hard on the planets of the Rim, and often short. The Resistance stands for the people; The Resistance stands against the shadow of the Imperium. If only all the people would stand with them.
